AK Steel Receives Subaru of Indiana President’s Quality Award for Sixth Year


Middletown, OH, May 12, 2003—AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) said today it has again earned the President’s Quality Award from Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) Inc., marking the sixth time that AK Steel has received SIA’s highest recognition for supplier excellence. 

The award was presented at a ceremony in Lafayette, Indiana by SIA officers. AK Steel supplies cold-rolled and coated steels for the Subaru Outback, Baja and Legacy models built by SIA in Lafayette.

“We greatly value our relationship with SIA and are honored to receive their most prestigious quality award for the sixth time,” said Richard M. Wardrop, Jr., chairman and CEO of AK Steel.
