AK Steel Announces April Surcharges

 

Middletown, OH, March 15, 2005—AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) has advised its flat-rolled carbon steel customers that a $230 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for products shipped in April 2005, an increase of $16 from March’s surcharge of $214 per ton.   AK Steel has also advised its electrical steel customers that a $295 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in April 2005, a decrease of $45 from the March surcharge of $340 per ton for those products.   April surcharges for the broad range of stainless steel products that AK Steel produces can be found on the company’s web site at www.aksteel.com.

AK Steel’s surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the February 2005 purchase cost used to determine the April 2005 surcharges.
