AK Steel Announces Price Increase for Stainless Steel Products

 

Middletown, OH, January 25, 2006—AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) said today that it will increase transaction prices for all cold-rolled stainless sheet and strip products by approximately 3%, effective with shipments on      February 19, 2006.  The increase will be accomplished through a two point reduction in the functional discount rate.

The price increase is in response to significant increases in manufacturing, energy and transportation costs, and to support capital investments.  

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
